 The Fremont Festival of the Arts is celebrating 27 years of fun in the sun! The Fremont Festival of the Arts is the largest free street festival west of the Mississippi River. The festival will include more than 600 artist booths, dozens of food booths, two stages and lots of children's activities.

Other highlights include cooking demonstrations Saturday by celebrity chef Sara Moulton. She'll be headlining Mission Foods' mobile kitchen from 1 to 5 p.m. at the corner of Paseo Padre Parkway and Capitol Avenue.

A flight simulator will be set up at the corner of Capitol Avenue and State Street. The $10 ride takes passengers on a virtual trip over Coit Tower in San Francisco, also nearby will be a bungee cord ride, which allows up to four kids to bounce up and down onto platforms.

There will also be a Kid City - A fun filled, interactive learning experience within the Fremont Festival where kids and their families can play together while being engaged in a variety of activities focusing on citizenship development and healthy lifestyles. Children will have the opportunity to become citizens of Kid City by visiting various sites and completing specific learning tasks and games.

After Kid City you can enjoy free music on two stages, with a large variety of music to please every taste! One stage at Paseo Padre Parkway and Mowry Avenue, and another stage at State Street and Beacon Ave.
